Sunday, August 3, 2008 Campaign News

Good Saturday Evening to All,

I hope this finds everyone doing well and enjoying their Saturday night, the first of the month of August 2008.

First, let's get caught up to what happened on the Presidential Campaign Trail on Saturday, August 2, 2008.

There was some Veep talk today, from a man that hasn't been talked about a whole lot by the John McCain campaign. US Representative Eric Cantor of Virginia's 7th Congressional District is getting thoroughly vetted by the McCain camp. He would provide some great benefits to a McCain ticket. Not the least of which, he would secure Virginia's 13 Electoral Votes for the Arizona Senator. Virginia, as you know, is a swing state this election cycle and right now is a pure toss-up. The only thing that can negate Virginia from the Republicans even with Cantor on the ticket is if Barack Obama picks Virginia governor Tim Kaine. Here are some other positives about Cantor: He is bright, clean, conservative but not angry, Jewish, and a good fund-raiser. According to a top Republican source, it is doubtful Cantor will be the pick, but he's a rising star in the Republican party. Other Republicans that seem to be in contention for the Vice Presidential Spot in a John McCain administration are former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, former US Representative Rob Portman of Ohio, and current Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty.

There wasn't any talk about Obama's Veepstakes.

That is all the major news for the Presidential Campaign Trail.

There are no new polls to distribute.

So, until tomorrow night, I ask that you have a great Lord's Day. I also pray that each of you would find a church to go to tomorrow morning. You will truly be blessed.

Remember this, God Loves You and So Do I.

Take care and good night!!
